If you’re googling for LGBT therapy near you, sipping your fresh squeezed juice or matcha latte at Dolores Park (or snacking after outdoor yoga at Lake Merritt), wondering what it would be like to be with a healer that knows what chosen & heart family is – WELCOME, YOU! You belong here!
As a queer, non-binary, genderfluid person offering LGBT therapy, I am deeply aware of the importance of having a space where you feel like you don’t have to defend, educate, or prove your identity or existence. Where you can just relax and do the deep work of healing and transformation.
Trans, genderqueer, non-binary, gender non-conforming, genderfluid, two-spirit, third gender, agender, gender expansive unicorn? Welcome!
I know that gender exists among a multitude of expressions, variations, and ways of being. This is an affirming, uplifting, and honoring space for you to be fully you.
Queer, bi, pan, fluid, lesbian, gay? Welcome!
I know that sexuality, attraction, romance, and partnership also exist among a multitude of expressions, variations, and ways of being. This is an affirming, uplifting, and honoring space for you to be fully you.
Many people who identify as within the rainbow of LGBQ & TNBGNC identities struggle with feeling they do not fit in, they are not enough, and that they do not belong. They can struggle with feeling like they are not “gay, trans, queer etc. enough” to be accepted. They may struggle to find and connect with community. Once connected, they can internalize fears of making a mistake and being canceled, called out, and cut off from community. They can face multiple layers of oppression within their family and cultural legacies, as well as within their friend groups, and within the LGBTQ larger community in general. It can start to feel like there is no place to be real, and relax.
LGBT therapy can offer you a place to belong, relax, and do that deeper healing work. I can understand the often complex and layered issues that can play out in LGBTQ communities, the impact of legacies of & present day oppression, and how that can affect individuals and relationships. But I won’t assume that’s what you’re wanting support on either. Maybe you’re here, and you’re queer, and that’s it!
So bring your big queer, bi, gay, gender non-conforming heart and any thing you want to explore and reach out. We can talk, listen to music, write poetry, do tarot, practice ritual, and heal. This is your space. Let’s be real, relaxed, embodied, and sacred together.
You do not have to be good.– Mary Oliver, “Wild Geese”
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
